3 Things You Need to do to Keep Your Home’s Windows in Good Shape

Your windows are the eyes of your home, allowing you to see the world around you. Being a homeowner can be stressful when you’ve got so many things to keep on top of. Your roof, your garden, your plumbing and everything else seems to demand a lot from you – but your windows don’t ask for much. In fact, there are just three major things you need to do to keep your home’s windows in good shape. We’ll go through these top three things below.

1) Have them professionally cleaned

Maintenance is the key to providing a long life for pretty much anything: your car, your computer, your home and especially yourself. Windows are no different. The more often you have them cleaned and maintained, the longer they’ll reliably serve your home. Getting your windows cleaned on a regular basis helps to prevent permanent stains and handle small cracks before they get out of hand. It’s easy to notice a small crack and then forget about it… then one day, you’ve woken up to find it’s doubled in size and it looks like you’ll have to call up a glazier!

2) Paint the frames

Cleaning your windows is a great way to keep them in shape, but what about the frames that support them? It’d be pretty pointless to take care of the glass, but neglect the timber frames. Over time, your timber frames can get a little weathered which isn’t helped by the extreme Aussie climate. Applying a coat of paint and a protective layer to your timber frames helps to defend them from the scorching summer sun and the winter rain. If you’re not up for the task, simply ask your window cleaners! They’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

3) Make a rule: no ball games near the windows!

As kids, most of us have been there before… the feeling of dread when you had to step up and tell your parents that you’d broken a window by hitting one for six in backyard cricket. If you’ve got kids, then a good way to prevent this from happening is to enforce a blanket rule: do NOT play ball games near the windows. And if you’ve got a partner who’s partial to a bit of backyard cricket after a couple of drinks, remind him that he’s not Steve Smith!

There are three easy steps to keep your windows in good condition at all times. The first step is to call Reliable Window Cleaning and get your windows looking spick and span! Where are we?

We are still here! We’ve been out and about doing bits and pieces, cleaning windows and meeting people. There’s been weddings and holidays, changes and innovations. I’ve not written on the website blog for a long time so let me tell you how we’ve been.

Firstly, Lauren and I were married in February, thank you very much. We had a lovely ceremony with family and friends in the back yard. Lauren looked beautiful and I looked lucky. The weather was a scorching 42 degrees but nobody melted and we just had the best day ever. There are a few photos on our Facebook page.

We also managed to get away to Bali for 10 wonderful windowless days. That was a great experience and we met some kind solid people there. We went scuba diving, rafting and did the waterpark. We met some great guys on the beach that taught us to surf, sort of. We ate lots, drank a little, wore ourselves out and then returned to a cold and rainy Perth.

But we have done all that now and we are back on the squeegees and on the road helping you good people see things with a bit more clarity. We are re-structuring the way we do things and trying to increase productivity and efficiency and a few small changes have been made and services are looking to be added shortly. Firstly, we have had to change the way we donated to Swags For Homeless and Guide Dogs WA.

For a year we managed to donate a portion from each job we did and you folk chose where it went. Together you helped us raise close to $2000 for Swags For Homeless, Guide Dogs WA and Starlight Children’s Foundation so thank you I’m sure it went into great things. Unfortunately we can no longer afford to do it this way and have decided to make a single donation annually from the business. It was a nice thought and something we would have loved to keep doing but without a price rise from us to you, it couldn’t be done. There are a lot of window cleaners out there, we face high competition and so need to stay highly competitive.

FREE TRACK CLEANING for the month of July! Yep, book in with us for a full window clean for the month of July and we will clean your tracks for FREE.

Scratch Removal. We are currently looking into a system that can remove scratches up to 0.01inch deep on all types of glass. This includes graffiti “artists” “art”, hot-works damage, bore water and hard water staining, stone chips and scratches from pets. It also guarantees a distortion free finish. So watch this space if you could benefit from such a service.

Lastly we have employed the use of a new scheduling system and are working on getting our regular clients onto an auto-reminder list. This is great for business owners who want us in once a month or residential clients that need us twice a year. Ask us about a discount for regular cleaning.

Well, I think that’s about it. Thanks to all those that have supported us this far. We couldn’t have done it without you. We look forward to seeing you all again.

Warm wishes.
Ryan Ball

Thanks AMC for this mornings job. I really love our job. Every now and then you get to go somewhere different and today was one of those days.

We got to clean the windows of an 11th floor Penthouse in the city . Great to get into Perth CBD and up somewhere high for a change. Awesome views of St Georges Terrace and over to Como. It was a cloudy morning and a bit windy but it did keep the sun off the windows. Nice straight forward job. We removed a lot of bug poo and they really came up great. And as an extra bonus, it looks like it might be a regular job.

So thanks again AMC Commercial Cleaning for choosing to use our services again. We really enjoy working with you and the variety of work you send our way. Very much appreciated.
